We confirmed the validity of a semiclassical guess regarding configurations
involving large field values for scalar models in 1, 2 and 3
dimensions.
-
A preliminary study of public SU(3) (from OSU)
quenched gauge configurations in 4 dimensions
suggest that, in the Landau gauge, the method could be extended
to gauge models.

Plans:
We are planning to decipher the MILC code and its subroutines for
instantons. We will try to generalize our approach of quantum mechanical
instantons to gauge models. This project requires that we make our own
configurations and is another justification for building the 16 node
cluster
mentioned above.
